Detailed Job Description
The Speech and Language Therapist will conduct intake assessments, observe communication patterns, identify therapy goals, prepare individual session plans and provide evidence-informed intervention for speech sounds, language delay, social communication, fluency, voice or feeding-related concerns within scope. The role includes maintaining progress notes, reviewing goals at defined intervals, guiding parents on home-practice activities, coordinating with schools or referring clinicians where needed and adapting therapy techniques according to each child’s attention, sensory needs and developmental stage. The therapist will also ensure ethical documentation, confidentiality and realistic communication with families about expected progress.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be patient, creative, structured and comfortable working with children and families. They should be able to explain clinical observations in simple language, handle sensitive conversations with empathy and collaborate with other therapy professionals without creating unrealistic expectations. Experience with autism spectrum disorder, developmental language disorder, articulation therapy or early-intervention programmes will be valuable.
